The Church Hedges Chapel's beginning predated the Civil War by twenty years. Its history is rich and its legacy is as enduring as the slate roof that covers her modest frame. The surrounding is rural, the community is warm and the atmosphere for worship is refreshing. You are invited to a church that reveres her heritage and welcomes her future. Hedges may very well be the church that you have longed for.
You would want to know what characterizes the vision and ministries of Hedges Chapel. Perhaps it could be summed up in three words:
Discovery
We are told that the greatest question ever asked is: "Who am I?" The Bible affords us the answer. We are God's unique creation and were made to know and serve Him. Here at Hedges you will receive help in your search for identity. We can learn together that a life without Jesus Christ is an incomplete life. We all are on a journey and it is one of discovery. Love and compassion are to be found at Hedges where you can find who you were meant to be.
Development
Maturation is vital to a person's survival. We are meant to grow in grace and ultimately to reach "the stature of the fullness of Christ." Eph 4:13. Many things contribute to our development, such as: Attending to the means of grace, being obedient, Bible reading, prayer, church attendance, etc. But one of the most important ingredients is relationships. God made us for attachment. Fellowship is an enriching way to discipleship. At Hedges you will meet people who are authentic and relational. We will be thrilled to be involved in the process of your ever becoming. There could be no greater fulfillment than the knowledge that our relationship with Christ and others is deepening.
Duty
Everyone needs to be motivated by a sense of purpose and calling. Haven't you every wondered what you really should be doing with your life? Many have found that church has often opened a door of opportunity for them to utilize the gift that God has entrusted to them. Our mantra at Hedges is "A Church in the Country with a World Vision." Our influence must be impacting far beyond our immediate context. To accomplish our mission, will require many hands carrying out their calling. We at Hedges feel our responsibility to be world Christians as Acts 1:8 commands. We invite you to be a partner in an exciting venture and outreach.
